Rodriguez had a good day at the plate. He cracked a solo homerun in the 2nd inning, ripped a base-knock in the 4th inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 32nd of the season) in the 7th inning. For the game Cincinnati out-hit Washington 9 to 6. Jon Garland(6-13) went 6 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Garland got help from Joel Hanrahan who was credited with his 1st save. Ben Sheets(9-7) suffered the loss.
