Sabathia(14-12) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Oswalt - except San Francisco. Cory Adams lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!' HOUSTON AT ST. Brian Giles had a good evening at the plate. He laced a base-knock in the 3rd inning, brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer (his 15th of the season) in the 4th inning and stroked a one-base hit in the 6th inning. Despite scoring in 5 separate innings, Houston could not get the win. Max Scherzer(12-7) allowed 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Justin Masterson(12-9) was charged with the loss. He couldn't find the strike zone and allowed 6 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. Florida fell behind quickly as the Chicago offense came through in the first inning when they scored 5 runs on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Aramis Ramirez who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he lofted a three-run bomb (his 20th of the season). Florida threatened in the 9th but Chicago was able to put down the rally. Jorge Campillo(9-8) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Campillo was helped out by Scot Shields who recorded his 3rd save. Todd Wellemeyer(5-12) was given the loss. The Chicago ballclub's record now stands at 75-73. Florida has a record of 55-93, worst in the division after the loss. Cincinnati totaled 13 hits on the night. The victory went to Garland(7-15) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. The loss was charged to Wandy Rodriguez(7-10).
