The losing pitcher was Leblanc(2-4). He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 11 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. Scherzer(4-3) was simply too much for the Tampa Bay batters. He didn't give up much, just 4 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings dropping his ERA from 5.01 to 4.35. Tampa Bay went down quietly in the 9th. Jon Lester(2-4) was charged with the loss. 'Scherzer was the man today,' Sean Lamont said. 'He had just about every pitch working.' Taylor Rogers earned the save, his 5th. Erik Goeddel(1-2) was the losing pitcher in relief. Los Angeles scored big getting 6 runs off him in 5 innings. Justin Thome was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one. That is what really ticks me off!'
