walks in 8 innings.  Skenes got help from Kyle Finnegan who pitched a perfect
ninth and was credited with his 29th save.  
 
Nick Pivetta(6-9) took the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 7 innings of work.
'Everything felt great' Skenes said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could
throw it by everybody tonight.'

squared off in a tense pitching duel, Tampa Bay Rays finally emerged
victorious over Boston Red Sox, 2 to 1.
 
Tampa Bay took the lead for good in the 2nd inning plating one baserunner.
After the 4th inning, neither team was able to score.  
 
Edwin Uceta recorded the save, his 19th.

In a tight game it was the Montreal Expos 5, the Kansas City Royals 3 at
Nationals Park.
 
Montreal scored 2 runs in the decisive 7th inning.  After an out was recorded,
Bryce Harper started the attack as he drew a walk.  Aaron Judge stepped up
next and he smashed a two-run homer.  Kansas City had a chance in the 9th but
they came up short.  
 
Hunter Greene(10-13) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 7 innings.
Griffin Jax gained credit for his 36th save.  Jose Butto(14-8) was given the
loss.  He pitched 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 7 hits and 5 walks.
 
Wth the win Montreal now has a record of 82-69.  Kansas City has a record of
100-51 after the loss.

Pierce Johnson had a strong outing as the Chicago (NL) Cubs bested the Los

Logan O'Hoppe had a good evening at the plate.  He caught a hold of a fastball
for a Grand Slam homerun in the 1st inning, ripped a single in the 6th inning
and slapped a base-hit in the 8th inning.  Phil Maton was great in relief and
recorded his 3rd save.  
 
The victory was credited to Johnson(1-0) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs.
Michael Lorenzen(6-9) suffered the loss.  He pitched 7 innings allowing 3
hits and 5 walks.

Seager had a big day with his bat.  He singled in the 4th inning, bombed a
two-run dinger in the 5th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 8th
inning.  Philadelphia had 18 hits for the game and Cincinnati had 7.  
 
The win was credited to Tanner Houck(15-12) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run.
Bryce Miller(10-14) was the loser.  He served up 4 homeruns in his 4 and 2/3
innings.  
 
'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park tonight,' Seager said.  'I'm
glad I decided to play!'

final score was 4 to 2.
 
Toronto came up with 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning with the help of 3
hits.  They ended up being the winning runs.  Toronto had 9 hits for the
night while St. Louis had 6.  
 
The win went to Colin Rea(4-9) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings. Luke Weaver
recorded his 31st save.  Rhett Lowder(10-15) absorbed the loss.

a hard fought contest.
 
Tarik Skubal(18-9) pitched a solid game.  He allowed 10 hits and 1 walk in 7
and 1/3 innings.  Cleveland won despite being out-hit by Texas 10 hits to 7.
 
Jeremiah Estrada got the save, his 6th.  Chris Sale(17-7) was charged with the
loss.  Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 11 batters in 6 innings.
