In a good matchup it was the Atlanta Braves 6, the Boston Red Sox 4 at Fenway
Park.
 
Pablo Lopez(1-1) gave Atlanta a solid outing.  He surrendered 4 hits and 3
walks in 5 innings reducing his ERA from 2.61 to 1.76.  Both teams totaled 7
hits on the night.  
 
Jordan Leasure was credited with his 4th save.  Jacob Degrom(0-2) took the
loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 6 hits and 2 walks in
3 innings.

separated the combatants at game's end.  The Detroit Tigers won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
 
In the 2nd inning Detroit scored 3 runs when they had 4 base hits.  It was
enough scoring to earn the victory.  After the 4th inning, neither team was
able to score.  
 
Randy Rodriguez(1-0) allowed no runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Rodriguez got help from Carlos Estevez who was credited with his 1st save.
Troy Melton(1-2) was the loser.

Hunter Greene had a strong outing at Nationals Park as the Montreal Expos beat
the Cleveland Indians by the count of 1 to 0.
 
The game's lone run was scored in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  Luis Garcia
Jr ripped a base-knock.  Ben Williamson was next to the plate, but was
promptly struck out.  Jake Meyers then doubled.  Bo Bichette followed, but he
was set down on strikes.  Bryce Harper came to the plate and slapped a
base-hit scoring the run.  That early run support was all that Greene(2-1)
required.  Cleveland tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.  
 
Shelby Miller earned his 1st save.  The loss was charged to Nick Lodolo(1-2).
Justin Thome was clearly disappointed after the game.  'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'

Cristopher Sanchez racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts as the
Baltimore Orioles pulled out a win over the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers by a
score of 1 to 0 at Camden Yards.
 
The deciding run was scored by Baltimore in the bottom of the 9th.  After two
outs Nick Kurtz blasted a solo shot making Baltimore the winners and sending
the 32,980 fans home happy.  Baltimore had only 4 hits for the night.  
 
The win was credited to Adrian Morejon(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no
runs. The losing pitcher was Caleb Thielbar(0-1) in relief.  He allowed 1 hit
and no walks in 1 inning.

Chicago (AL) came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning scoring
2 runs utilizing 3 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Daulton Varsho got
things rolling when he ripped a base-hit.  Christian Walker stepped into the
batter's box and he clubbed a two-run home run.  Chicago (AL) managed 8 hits
in their victory.  
 
Eduard Bazardo(1-1) went 1/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory.
Bazardo got help from Andres Munoz who earned his 2nd save.  Manuel
Rodriguez(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning allowing 3
hits and no walks.
