Atlanta had the winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs on 4 base hits. Brent Rooker started the inning off right when he doubled. After an out was recorded, Stanton came up and he slapped a single scoring a one-base hit run. Swanson took off for second and slid in with a stolen base. Manny Machado was up next and he doubled scoring the final run of the inning. Atlanta finished with 10 hits while Tampa Bay ended up with 7. Kansas City plated all the runs they needed in the 2nd inning with 3 runs on 2 hits. Matt Olson kicked off the action when he drew a walk. Alejandro Kirk came to the plate and laced a single. Kerry Carpenter followed, but he was set down on strikes. Matt Chapman stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Randy Arozarena came up to bat and doubled clearing the bases. one-run game at Fenway Park.  The final score was the Chicago (AL) White Sox
3, the Boston Red Sox 2.
 
Chicago (AL) came up with all the runs they needed in the 5th inning when they
scored 3 runs on 2 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Seiya
Suzuki who quieted the crowd when he blasted a two-run home run.  Boston had
a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
The victory was credited to Andrew Abbott(3-1) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. Andres Munoz got the save, his 3rd.  The losing pitcher was Tyler
Glasnow(1-1).

At Nationals Park the Texas Rangers outscored the Montreal Expos 4 to
1.
 
Texas took the lead for keeps in the top of the 2nd inning as they scored 2
runs on 2 base hits.  That early run support was all that Max Fried(2-1)
required.  Texas had 9 hits overall, while Montreal had 5.  
 
Fried got help from Robert Suarez who was credited with his 5th save.  Shane
Smith(1-2) was hit with the loss.  He gave up 5 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3
innings.

Dominic Canzone hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI at Citizens Bank Park as
the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 6 to 3.
 
Toronto promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring 2 runs on 2
hits.  After an out was recorded, Jonathan Aranda got things rolling when he
doubled.  Austin Wynns followed, but he was set down on strikes.  Canzone
then clubbed a two-run home run.  For the game Toronto out-hit Philadelphia
12 to 7.  
 
Chris Bassitt(1-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Logan Webb(2-1)
was the loser.  He pitched 8 innings giving up 11 hits and no walks.
