Joe Ryan mowed down 10 Toronto batters as the Atlanta Braves topped the
Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 2 to 1 at Rogers Centre.
 
Ryan(1-2) was in control of the game from the outset.  He allowed just 2 hits
and 1 walk in 6 innings improving his ERA from 3.75 to 3.00.  Tyler Phillips
was perfect in the ninth giving him his 4th save on the season.  
 
Chris Bassitt(2-2) was tagged with the loss.  Ryan was humble when questioned
about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches this
afternoon.  But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was
called.  That was an extremely well called game!'

American Bpk.
 
Cincinnati scored 2 runs in the 6th inning.  Brendan Donovan led off and he
doubled.  Two outs later Colson Montgomery came to bat and lifted one out of
the park for a two run home run.  Cincinnati finished with 7 hits in the
victory.  
 
Tyler Kinley(1-3) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the victory. Kinley was
helped out by Anthony Bender who recorded his 6th save.  The losing pitcher
was Tyler Glasnow(1-2).  
 
With this win, Cincinnati has a 10-17 record. They have been 6-4 lately.  With
the loss Boston now has a record of 14-13.

went 8 solid innings at Dodger Stadium as the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers staged
a comeback win over the Cleveland Indians by the count of 4 to 3.
 
Los Angeles(NL) erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning with 2 runs.  After two outs Jahmai Jones kicked off the action when
he drew a walk.  Albies was next and he bombed a two-run dinger making Los
Angeles(NL) victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.  The teams
had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.  
 
David Bednar(4-1) allowed 1 run in 2/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Emilio Pagan(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief.

The Detroit Tigers got by the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park.  The final
score was 5 to 3.
 
Nick Pivetta(2-2) delivered a fine performance for Detroit.  He allowed 8 hits
and no walks in 6 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA from 5.23 to 4.67.  Kansas
City made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.  
 
Abner Uribe earned his 6th save.  A.J. Blubaugh(1-3) was hit with the loss in
relief.  He served up 3 homeruns in his 2 and 2/3 innings.

Carter stole second with some aggressive base running. Philadelphia continued their aggressive style with another stolen base. Xavier Edwards came up and he ripped a single giving Philadelphia the victory as 38,543 happy fans celebrated wildly. Philadelphia managed 7 hits in their victory. The victory was credited to Jojo Romero(2-1) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. The loss was charged to Manuel Rodriguez(1-5) in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 inning of work.
