22,538 fans watched an exciting game at Progressive Field.  The Atlanta Braves
topped the Cleveland Indians by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
 
Atlanta scored 2 runs in the 6th inning.  Cleveland proved to be no trouble in
the bottom of the 9th.  Tyler Phillips(2-1) was the winner allowing no runs
in 1 and 2/3 innings. Jordan Leasure recorded his 8th save.  Hayden
Wesneski(2-3) was the loser.  
 
Wth the win Atlanta now has a record of 18-21.  Not able to get much going in
recent weeks, Cleveland is 2-8 of late and now has an overall record of
11-28, worst in the division.

Left fielder Taylor Ward hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI as the Boston
Red Sox defeated the floundering Montreal Expos 5 to 4 at Nationals Park.
 
In the top of the 6th inning Boston scored 2 runs.  William Contreras led off
and keyed the rally when he drew a walk.  Pete Alonso was next and he clubbed
a two-run home run.  Boston had 11 hits overall, while Montreal had 8.
 
Bryan Abreu(2-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the win. Abreu got help
from Yariel Rodriguez who earned his 1st save.  Kai-Wei Teng(0-1) was given
the loss in relief.  He gave up 2 runs and 2 hits in 2/3 of an inning.

as the Baltimore Orioles bested the Cincinnati Reds 11 to 3 at Camden
Yards.
 
Raisel Iglesias(3-1) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory.  He
went 2 and 1/3 innings and surrended up 2 hits and 1 walk seeing his ERA drop
from 3.24 to 2.84.  Baltimore managed 11 hits in their victory.  
 
Iglesias was helped out by Jhoan Duran who recorded his 5th save.  Jack
Leiter(2-5) was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 4 hits and 3 walks.
 
PHILADELPHIA(24-15) AT DETROIT(23-16)

In a one-sided affiar at Comerica Park the final score was the Detroit Tigers
10, the Philadelphia Phillies 3.
 
Riley O'Brien(3-1) got the win with a steady relief outing.  He allowed 5 hits
and no walks in 4 innings dropping his ERA from 4.24 to 4.03.  Detroit and
Philadelphia each finished the afternoon with 10 hits.  
 
Ryne Nelson(5-2) was hit with the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 5 innings of
work.

Altuve enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He cracked a two-run shot in the 4th
inning and doubled which was good for two runs in the 8th inning.  Texas had
11 hits in the game while Chicago (AL) had 8, but Chicago (AL) had the more
timely hits.  
 
The victory went to Kris Bubic(4-4) who went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs. Shane
Bieber(3-1) took the loss.  He surrended 3 homeruns in his 6 innings.

Logan Henderson came through with a solid 7 innings at Wrigley Field as the
Chicago (NL) Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3 to 2.
 
Henderson(4-1) looked very much in control throughout the day.  He gave up
just 1 hit and no walks in 7 innings.  Mason Miller came throught with a
perfect ninth inning to earn his 5th save.  
 
The losing pitcher was Lucas Giolito(0-4).  Chicago (NL) remained hot,
improving their record to 22-17.  They now have a record of 9-1 in recent
days.  With the loss St. Louis now has a record of 16-23, worst in the
division.

Royals defeated the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 5 to 1 at Kauffman
Stadium.
 
Johan Oviedo(3-1) earned his pay with a solid performance for Kansas City.  He
went 6 innings surrendering 1 hit and 7 walks.  Oviedo whiffed an impressive

the bottom of the 11th.
