Cole Hamels whiffed 10 batters at Enron Field where the Atlanta Braves beat
the Houston Astros by the score of 6 to 2.
Hamels(1-0) was simply too much for the Houston batters. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Atlanta totaled 8 hits
on the night.
Justin Masterson(0-1) absorbed the loss. Hamels was humble when questioned
about his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight.
But, I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That
was an extremely well called game!'
