the combatants at game's end. The St. Louis Cardinals won by the slimmest of
margins, 3 to 2.

After another out, Adam Dunn came to the plate and hit a sacrifice fly.
Geovany Soto struck out, unable to help the rally. The San Francisco offense
proved no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.
