While Chicago (AL) pitching was serving softballs up there for him to hit, the Chicago (AL) fans were serving up some hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel for the fire. He launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun in the 2nd inning, smacked a single in the 3rd inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 9th inning. Kansas City had 15 hits overall, while Chicago (AL) had 2. Sheehan(7-0) allowed no runs in 7 innings, and picked up the victory. Gavin Williams(3-8) took the loss. Carpenter was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the ball real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are paying off. That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes along.'

In a tight game it was the Cincinnati Reds 5, the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers 3 at
Great American Bpk.
 
Cincinnati went ahead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring 2
runners on 2 hits.  The big moment was provided by Colson Montgomery who came
through for the home fans when he clubbed a two-run home run.  Cincinnati won
despite being out-hit by Los Angeles(NL) 9 hits to 5.  
 
The winning pitcher was Matt Boyd(3-5) who allowed 1 run in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Anthony Bender gained credit for his 8th save.  Shohei Ohtani(3-5) took the
loss.  He gave up just 2 runs and 2 hits in 5 innings.

11,167 fans were treated to a fine game at Tropicana Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Texas Rangers won by the
slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
 
Corbin Burnes(4-5) contributed a pedestrian performance to earn the win.  He
was reached for 5 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings and allowed 2 gopher
balls.  Tampa Bay threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
 
Burnes got help from Jason Adam who earned his 4th save.  Will Warren(1-5) was
